SOFEX-25: DIODON engaged in the most demanding exercise of the Spanish SF

DIODON was engaged during SOFEX-25, the annual high-intensity exercise of the Spanish Joint Special Operations Command (MCOE), focused on multi-domain operational experimentation.

Within this demanding environment, the DIODON HP30 Mk.2 was deployed in support of special operations forces operating across maritime and littoral phases.

Maritime Drone Performance in High-Intensity Littoral Operations

SOFEX-25 provided a realistic environment to highlight the maritime capabilities of the DIODON drones.

Operating in degraded weather and complex coastal conditions, the system demonstrated stable launch, flight and recovery performance during littoral manoeuvres. Its ability to remain operational in harsh maritime environments confirmed its suitability for special operations scenarios where sea state, wind and rapid deployment constraints are critical factors.

This exercise reinforced the relevance of a drone platform specifically engineered for maritime operations, rather than adapted from terrestrial systems.

Tactical ISR Capability in Multi-Domain Special Operations

Beyond its maritime robustness, the DIODON HP30 Mk.2 contributed directly to ISR missions within the exercise framework.

The system supported detection, coordinate transmission and tactical supervision tasks, integrating within complex manoeuvres involving multiple vectors.

Its rapid deployment and stable performance enabled effective contribution to the intelligence-to-decision cycle, confirming its operational relevance across both maritime and inland phases of special operations.

“Exercises like SOFEX set an extremely demanding operational standard. It is a great source of pride to see our systems operating in such an environment, delivering maritime robustness and effective ISR capabilities across complex littoral and beaching scenarios."

DIODON extends its thanks to USP S.L. for their trust and to the Mando Conjunto de Operaciones Especiales (MCOE) for integrating our solutions within such a demanding operational framework.

About DIODON Drone Technology

Since 2017, Toulouse-based SME DIODON Drone Technology has designed, manufactured, and integrated mini UAVs natively engineered for the most demanding maritime environments.

Its mission is to provide cutting-edge systems to maritime professionals, enhancing operational coverage, resilience, and responsiveness for reconnaissance, surveillance, intelligence, inspection, and search and rescue missions at sea, along coastlines, or on inland waters.

This approach is built on two complementary pillars:

  • The design and production of maritime UAVs ;
  • The hardware and software integration of aerial systems into existing naval architectures.
